5 Tips for Success – Creating a strategy for your life starts with small steps.

Why not start with these 5 tips for success in life and business.

1. Communicate effectively with others.

For starters, answer your phone and return phone calls. Secondly, be sure to listen carefully when people talk to you. Additionally, when making phone calls devote all of your attention to what the other person is saying and pay attention (instead of time sharing with other tasks, such as checking e-mail or scrolling through your social media account). In short, make sure to show an interest in others before talking about yourself.

2. Be on time.

Regardless if it’s for an appointment or perhaps to work on a project, be on time. If possible, arrive early for appointments and meetings. Additionally, set reminders in your daily schedule that tells you when to begin transferring to an appointment. For instance, note when you will stop working on a task, begin collecting materials and start traveling. Allow time for delays in travel, especially if driving. Remember, the fastest way to destroy people’s trust in you is to waste their time.

3. Plan ahead and plan well.

For starters, always prepare an agenda for meetings, contact key participants before the meeting to hear their views. Solicit suggestions for agenda items, and coach them on how to prepare for the meeting. In other words, send agendas far enough in advance, so that people have time to prepare. By planning ahead and well will demonstrate your ability to lead.

4. Help others.

Above all, be a mentor for other women. Be sure to, share ideas, provide feedback, and teach people skills that will help them excel. Work with a spirit of abundance. With this in mind, give first without attaching a receipt for return favors. Let others speak first, even on issues where you are an expert. Subsequently, listening to others shows that you value their viewpoint.

5.  Go in with good intentions.

For starters, find the good in everyone. Compliment others. Avoid starting or listening to gossip. Never ridicule, insult, or make fun of other people. Use positive words, always speaking about what you want and how you want things to be. Above all, avoid suggesting motives or assigning judgments for other people’s actions and views, because of #nobodyhastimeforthat.
